Inspired by our favorite family recipes, Val’s Pizza prepares comforting pizzas, sandwiches, sides & sweets sourced from the freshest Michigan produce & imported special ingredients. 

Partners in life & pizza, chef Val Markel, wife Erin Wilson & daughter Norma launched Val’s Pizza from their home in Old Redford. A decade in the making, Val’s Pizza is premised on inclusion, familiarity & intimacy.

Erin leads all things front of house, marketing, and communications for Val’s Pizza.

A master gardener and experimental artist, Erin has a special eye for design and style. You can find her greeting guests, taking orders and turning everything she touches in to gold, baby.

 

Val first fell in love with pizza in Portland. On her first date with now wife, Erin, Val told Erin how her dream was to one day own her own pizza restaurant.

A decade in the making, this dream is realized through Val’s Pizza. Before launching, Val had cooked at many of Detroit’s renowned kitchens, including Selden Standard, Takoi and Marrow.
